A Thousand Miles to Freedom film screening

Monday, February 16, 2015 at 1 p.m.

As part of its celebration of Black History Month, Uncle Tom's Cabin Historic Site will be screening the film, A Thousand Miles to Freedom. Admission is free. With an introduction by the late Lincoln Alexander, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, this documentary is the story of the Underground Railway told in the words of those enslaved and by others who were an essential part of its story. Using historical transcripts and archival photographs, the film shows us what it was like to experience this terrifying and dangerous journey to freedom.
