Please join the Ontario Heritage Trust, in partnership with the City of Cornwall and the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame, as we unveil a provincial plaque commemorating The Flying Frenchmen: Èdouard “Newsy” Lalonde 1887-1970.

After the Montreal Canadiens were formed in 1909, Cornwall’s Édouard “Newsy” Lalonde (1887-1970) joined the team as a forward. He played for the Canadiens until 1922, when he was traded to the Saskatoon Crescents.

This is the second in a series of three provincial plaques honouring The Flying Frenchmen.
