In the Light of Dawn: A book launch at the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History

Join us at the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History as we celebrate the launch of a new book by Dresden native and historian, Marie Carter.

In the Light of Dawn shines a spotlight on the Dawn Settlement, revealing its legacy of activism and contributions to societal change. Through stories of prominent figures and pivotal events, it challenges narrow historical interpretations, positioning the Dawn Settlement as a significant community driving social progress.

Historian Dr. Afua Cooper — who also wrote the book’s foreword — will also be on hand to interview Carter. A Q-and-A and book signing will follow.
